Phase 4: conduits laid in Spendijk

Elia is laying 150-kV underground cables between Geel and Herentals. Starting in June, work will continue as conduits are laid in Spendijk. This will take about two weeks.

Phase 4: conduits laid in Spendijk starting in June

In early June, Elia will be carrying out excavation work between the Olenseweg/Larumseweg intersection and Dokter Luyckxstraat. A trench will be dug in Spendijk, the conduits laid and the trench then resealed. The work will last about two weeks. Local residents will have access to their homes at all times while the work is in progress. Elia will pull electricity cables through the conduits in a later phase of the project. 

Spendijk closed to through traffic

During the works, Spendijk will be closed at the intersection with the Olenseweg and Larumseweg. Traffic through Spendijk will be diverted locally, but will still be able to proceed towards Spendijk. Through traffic on Olenseweg and Larumseweg will not be disrupted while the work is in progress.
