ENTSO-E publishes its Ten-Year Network Development Plan 2014 for Europe

In its plan, the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) describes how the European electricity grid will be developed between now and 2030 to integrate up to 60% of renewable energy as efficiently as possible and in total safety.

Transmission system operators (TSOs) in 34 European countries cooperated with ENTSO-E, contributing their unique expertise to devise the Ten-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP 2014). For the first time, the plan includes rigorous cost-benefit analyses aimed at guaranteeing that each of the 120 transmission projects provides more benefits to consumers and citizens than it costs.

Following the launch of the draft TYNDP 2014 package, ENTSO-E has opened a public consultation period extending from 10 July to 20 September 2014, requesting all interested parties to submit their comments via the consultation page on its website (https://www.entsoe.eu/news-events/entso-e-consultations/Pages/default.aspx). With a view to improving the plan, ENTSO-E will carefully consider and give its response to every comment received.
