TenneT pays a visit to Elia’s Life+ project
A delegation from electricity transmission system operator TenneT Netherlands and Germany visited Nassogne to take a closer look at Elia’s Life+ project.
Elia’s Life+ project, an environmentally-friendly approach to managing the corridors under overhead lines, sets an example throughout Europe and attracts the interest of other transmission system operators.
For example, a delegation of Dutch and German representatives from TenneT came to Nassogne on Wednesday 23 July to meet the team behind the Life+ project and see what impact the pilot project has had in practice. They were accompanied by a German representative of the NGO NABU (Naturschutzbund Deutschland) and a representative from the Consultation and Environment Department of French transmission system operator RTE, one of the project’s partners.
The TenneT delegation was extremely interested in the idea and its practical implications. Following an information session in the morning, the group visited a site to see for themselves the progress that had been made in restoring different natural environments under high-voltage lines.
