The 2015-2025 Federal Development Plan enters a new phase

24-02-2015

As part of its duties in 2015, Elia will prepare a 10-year plan for the development of the federal transmission grid (covering the period 2015-2025). This plan is drawn up in collaboration with the Directorate-General for Energy and the Federal Planning Bureau.

Objectives: to present a detailed estimate of the electricity transmission capacity requirements (at the following voltage levels: 380 kV, 220 kV, 150 kV and 110 kV) and to determine the investment programme necessary to meet these requirements.

The opinions of CREG, the federal regulator, and Bart Tommelein, the Minister responsible for marine environment, have been obtained. The draft  is therefore entering a new phase.

The task now is to prepare a report on the environmental impacts of the draft development plan , in accordance with legal requirements. This report, in addition to the development plan itself, will be available for public consultation before the summer.

The draft development plan is already available under Grid Data > Grid Development > Federal Development Plan 2015-2025.
