Elia dismantles 16 km long high-voltage line between Schelle and Mechelen
On 13 February 2017, Elia, the operator of Belgium's high-voltage grid, will begin dismantling a 70-kV high-voltage line between the Schelle and Mechelen substations. The overhead line comprises 82 pylons and stretches 16 km in total through the municipalities of Schelle, Niel, Aartselaar, Reet, Rumst and Mechelen.
The high-voltage line is no longer required in the future development of the high-voltage grid. Elia and the contractor will contact the owners of land over which the line passes or on which a pylon is located to discuss practical arrangements.
