Implementation of European Guidelines in the CORE region

On 17 November 2016, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) decided to merge the Central West Europe (CWE) and Central East Europe (CEE) capacity calculation regions into a single “CORE” capacity calculation region.

In the wake of this decision, the 16 transmission system operators concerned, including Elia, have launched a project to implement all the regional obligations arising from the European Guidelines within the CORE region. One of the project's main achievements will be the extension of the flow-based mechanism - nowadays only operational in CWE- towards the whole CORE region.
