Road restored in Spendijk and Grensstraat

On Wednesday 16 March and Tuesday 22 March 2022, Elia will resurface the road in Grensstraat and Spendijk. During the work, a modified traffic situation will be in place. After these works have been completed, the road will be passable again.

Road resurfacing with asphalt

Elia will resurface the road with asphalt in Spendijk and Grensstraat on Wednesday 16 March and Tuesday 22 March 2022. This will be done in locations where electricity cables have been laid in a trench. The works will be carried out in two phases:

• Wednesday 16 March: in a first phase, Elia will remove the top layer of asphalt using a milling vehicle over the entire width of the road surface. 

• Tuesday 22 March: in a second phase, Elia will lay new asphalt in Spendijk and Grensstraat. Because the asphalt needs to dry, you will not be able to drive on these roads between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Traffic may return from 6 p.m.
  

Spendijk closed to traffic during asphalting

During the asphalt work, Spendijk will be closed to traffic. Houses will, however, remain accessible on foot at all times. Local residents in Spendijk between Olenseweg and Haanheuvel must park their car outside the site zone at the following times:

• During the removal of the top layer on Wednesday 16 March, limited and local disruption is possible in Spendijk between Olenseweg and Haanheuvel. You may have to wait until the milling vehicle has passed. After this work has been carried out you can drive on the foundation of the road. Do you live on this section of Spendijk? Then we advise you to park your car outside the site zone on Tuesday evening.

• During the asphalt work on Tuesday 22 March, you will not be able to drive on Spendijk between the Olenseweg and Haanheuvel.,  Do you live on this section of Spendijk? On the evening of Monday 21 March, please park your car outside the site zone. You will be able to use the road again from 6 p.m. on Tuesday 22 March. 
  
  

Minimising disruption

Works always entail some disruption, which Elia and its contractor are making every effort to minimise.  

• All homes, businesses and farmland will remain accessible at all times. Owners will be informed of any exceptions to these arrangements. 
• Work will only be carried out during the day, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the latest. 
• Site vehicle traffic in the street will be limited.
