Our values and ambitions
Our core values and ambitions reflect the fundamental principles that are deeply rooted within Elia.
Elia is an ambitious company that operates in a fast-changing sector. To be able to maintain our key role in this dynamic environment, we are strongly committed to safety, cooperation and innovation. We also strive towards a company culture that unlocks the full potential of our talents to establish a high-performance organisation.
Putting safety first
We constantly invest in safety and expect our staff (both in the field and at administrative sites), subcontractors, colleagues, the distribution system operators, and everyone else involved to work safely and responsibly at all times. Our goal is zero accidents.
Acting in the interest of society
In everything we do, we ask ourselves what society wants and how we can offer added value. We realise the grid of the future through proactive dialogue with a variety of stakeholders, based on mutual respect and empathy to come to the best societal and environmental solutions.
Being driven by performanceWe are efficient and quality-oriented in our work with a view to achieving or exceeding the targets set. We strive to get results and to deliver projects and services on time.
Our aspirational values
In a changing energy sector, our four aspirational values are key to achieving Elia’s strategy. They are reflected in the behaviour and attitude of our staff.
We are entrepreneurialWe work proactively and take initiatives to improve and to get out of our comfort zone. We do all we can to succeed, learn from our mistakes, and do better.
We share our knowledge both within and outside Elia, we question each other and give honest feedback to make as much progress as possible. We are stronger together!
We are accountableWe set motivating, ambitious targets and we achieve them. We fully assume responsibility for a project or task from start to finish.
We are agile
We do not stand still. We are open to change and keep moving forward despite the complex challenges posed by the energy landscape.
