Public consultation for environmental permit begins

Elia has submitted a permit application for the laying of underground cables between the high-voltage substation in Herentals and the Heze high-voltage substation in Geel. The application was declared complete on 19 May 2020. The public consultation starts on 2 June 2020 and runs until 2 July 2020. Information about the public consultation can be found on the websites of the municipality of Olen, the city of Herentals and the city of Geel.                                                                                                               

At the start of a public consultation process, Elia typically holds an information session to efficiently and effectively inform local residents about the proposed project, but since this is not currently possible due to the coronavirus measures Elia is using other means of communication to inform local residents and give them an opportunity to ask any questions they might have.
