Modified timing for works on ALEGrO construction site
A technical problem with the fibre optic cables integrated into the ALEGrO high-voltage cable was identified in the Rue Houlteau. As a result, Elia has to replace the section concerned along its entire length (+/- 850 m). -

Construction work on the station building began last April, and the first concrete shells for its side walls have been erected. So far they have reached roughly half their final height. -

Progress of work on the microtunnel at the Cheratte viaduct.
Under the responsibility of General Cable, the joint venture Vandenberg – Jan de Nul – K Boringen has completed the first major stage of the project with the construction of the waterproof secant-pile walls around the vertical shafts. -

In February, we told you that the first stage of the converter station project would last until April. This soil reinforcement stage went well. The 5,200 ballasted columns have now been injected and the stage is complete.
