Elia to resume work in Hoeilaart on 16 April

The contractor will resume work on the underground cable connection linking the Ixelles and Hoeilaart high-voltage substations on Thursday 16 April.

More specifically, the contractor will continue working on three of the seven cable sections: cable sections 4, 5 and 6. 

Starting on 16 April, the site will be prepared and the signage erected. The actual (trench) work itself will begin on 20 April. According to the current schedule, the work is due to be completed in early July 2020. This schedule is subject to change in the event of new measures to address COVID-19 or unforeseen circumstances. 

The first part of the worksite is located on the cycle path along J.B. Charlierlaan, in the direction of Groenendaalsesteenweg. Work will then be carried out on Groenendaalsesteenweg, in the direction of the R0

Impact on traffic:

  • Only one lane will be available to traffic heading towards the R0.
  • Traffic coming from the R0 will be diverted via Terhulpensesteenweg.
  • Parking is prohibited around the worksite.

Measures to minimise disruption:

Elia and its contractor are making every effort to minimise disruption. If access will briefly be limited in your area, you will be notified personally
You will have electricity at all times while the work is being performed.
