While waiting for the 150 kV overhead line between the Ruien and Chièvres substations to be renewed by an underground connection, Elia – as the electricity Transmission System Operator – must maintain a safe and reliable operation of its infrastructure. 

In this context and in order to ensure the safety of people and infrastructure, two actions will be carried out in the near future by the external company IRIS:

•  An audit that allows us to determine whether certain maintenance or repairs are necessary; 
• Painting of certain pylon components that allows them to be maintained pending their dismantling.
  

These interventions will be carried out between 21 March and 7 April 2022 in the municipalities of Ath, Leuze-en-Hainaut and Chièvres. The owners and/or operators concerned will of course be informed in advance.

As a reminder, this audit is independent of any permit application procedure currently underway and in no case constitutes a start of construction.
