Changes to schedule of work on some cable sections
Due to exceptional circumstances, Elia is unable to carry out its work on certain cable sections at the planned time. The revised schedule for each section is given below.
Work in Tisselt
Under the new schedule, Elia will be working in Beekstraat and Westdijk (cable section from J8A to Tisselt substation) from early March to late June 2020. The underground drilling from the Tisselt high-voltage substation to Overloopstraat will therefore take place earlier than planned. The surrounding area will be restored temporarily.
In addition, work on the trench in Overloopstraat and Hoogstraat (cable section from Tisselt substation to J1B) is scheduled from early August to late November 2020. The trench work will take place in two phases:
- Phase 1: Work starts in Overloopstraat in early August 2020.
- Phase 2: Work in Hoogstraat starts in early September 2020.
Work in Leest
The work in Hoogstraat, Juniorslaan and Kleine Heide (cable section from J1B to J2B) is scheduled from early August to late November 2020. This work will also be done in two phases:
- Phase 1: Work in Kleine Heide starts in early August 2020.
- Phase 2: Work in Hoogstraat and Juniorslaan starts in September 2020.
In Bessemstraat in Tisselt, the trenches through which the electricity cables will be pulled are being dug. The cable pulling is currently scheduled to take place on 17 and 18 March 2020. The contractor will complete the work in Bessemstraat in early May 2020, barring unforeseen circumstances.
