Work begins on the Avelgem-Avelin connection

Following the award of the planning permit in July, work is now under way on the project to upgrade the 380 kV line between Avelgem substation and Avelin.

The work will be done in two stages over a period of three years:

  • 22 October 2018 to November 2019: the technical teams will upgrade the pylons and the foundations;
  • Late 2019 to 2021: the technicians will replace the conductors.

Throughout this period, Elia will take all the necessary measures to minimise any disruption caused by the work. Elia is also committed to providing clear information about progress on the project while the work is going on.
