Performance and ratings

Feedback from ESG rating agencies is invaluable as a benchmark and an indicator of our stakeholders’ main concerns.

As of November 2023, Sustainalytics[1] presented Elia Transmission Belgium with an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Risk Rating of 8.7, ranking in the first percentile of the utility industry and even ranking first in the electric utility subindustry. The score compares to an industry average of 31.8. It assesses Elia to be at a negligible risk of experiencing material financial impacts from ESG factors and categorises the company as both ESG industry top-rated and ESG regional top-rated.

It demonstrates that Elia's ACT NOW sustainability action plan is paying off. Elia Transmission Belgium is embedding ACT NOW across all its business processes; it is carrying out its daily activities with a strong focus in mind, leading to big impact in terms of sustainability.
