Overhauling grid infrastructure in Schaerbeek and central Brussels

Work that began in June to overhaul grid infrastructure in Schaerbeek in the area between the rue du Noyer, place de Jamblinne de Meux, avenue Plasky and avenue du Diamant will continue in August as planned.

Unfortunately, due to unexpected technical difficulties, the place de Jamblinne de Meux (opposite numbers 23 to 45) will have to be closed off again after 15 August, albeit for a much shorter time (2 to 3 days). At the same time as this closure, avenue Milcamps will also be blocked off to through traffic for 2 to 3 days.

  • Between 6 and 31 August, rue du Noyer will become a one-way street (in the direction of the place des Chasseurs Ardennais heading for the place de Jamblinne de Meux).
  • Between 13 and 31 August, rue du Diamant between square Plasky and rue de l'Opale will become a one-way street, and over the same period it will be closed between avenue de Roodebeek and avenue Lacomblé.

In other words, barring any unforeseen technical difficulties or adverse weather conditions, all these works - which will significantly impact mobility - should be completed by the time school resumes.

In central Brussels, work is scheduled in the section of the rue Charles-Quint between rue du Noyer and rue Jenneval, which will be closed for the duration of the overhaul, but should be back in normal use by 15 September.

We would ask road users and local residents to excuse us for any inconvenience caused and can assure them that we will do our utmost to complete the work as quickly as possible. We should also point out that the planned measures are essential for guaranteeing security of supply in the affected municipalities.
