FAQ

  • Why haven’t I received payment for the green certificates I sold to Elia?

You can find the answer to the question "Why haven’t I received payment for the green certificates I sold to Elia?" in the FAQ section of the CWaPE website (only available in French).
  • I am VAT-registered with regard to the sale of my green certificates. What do I have to do to receive payment for the green certificates I sold to Elia?

Producers that are VAT-registered for the sale of green certificates (VAT Decision, no. E.T.114.454, dd. 28.10.2014) must, to release the payment, send an invoice to Elia either by post (Elia System Operator, Supplier Accounts, Boulevard de l’Empereur 20, 1000 Brussels) or by e-mail (gc@elia.be). You can find an example invoice here (in French)
  • I want to sell my green certificates to Elia. What do I have to do?
You can find all of the relevant information under Purchasing procedures.
  • How do I sell my previously obtained green certificates (“certificats verts anticipés”) to Elia at the guaranteed minimum price?
You can find all of the relevant information under Purchasing procedures.
  • I want to sell my green certificates to Elia. Can you send me a contract for the sale of green certificates?
Since Elia is required to purchase green certificates in Wallonia at the guaranteed minimum price of €65, you do not need to sign a contract to sell your green certificates. As a green producer, you may decide – when entering your meter reading – to sell your certificates on the open market or to Elia.
  • I stated via the CWaPE extranet that I wanted to sell my green certificates to Elia. How do I send you my bank account number so that you can pay me for the green certificates?
For the payment, Elia will use the bank details recorded in the CWaPE database. Producers (holders of a CWaPE account) can update their bank details by completing the "Déclaration de coordonnées bancaires" available in French or in German at www.cwape.be or simply by contacting the CWaPE call centre (081/33.08.10). CWaPE will forward your bank details to Elia, which will then make the payment.
  • I registered a sale of green certificates via the CWaPE extranet. When I will receive payment?
CWaPE has a legal deadline of 75 days in which to draw up and send a payment list to Elia. Payment will be made within 45 days of receipt by Elia of the request for payment of the Walloon green certificates transmitted by CWaPE. The dates of receipt of requests for payment for Walloon green certificates are published on the Elia website in the section entitled Date of receipt of the request for payment of the Walloon green certificates. On CWaPE's website, you can also view Elia's payment deadlines as of 7 October 2013 via the following link: Visualiser les délais de paiement par Elia à partir du 07 octobre 2013.
  • While entering my meter reading data via the CWaPE extranet, I did not opt to sell my green certificates directly to Elia. I am unable to find a buyer on the open market and would now like to sell my certificates to Elia. Is that possible?
If, when inputting your metering reading, you do not opt to sell your green certificates directly to Elia, then you lose the right to sell them at the guaranteed minimum price of €65. Consequently, Elia can no longer purchase them. You can continue trying to find a buyer on the open market.
  • I cannot find the answer to my question in the FAQ section of the Elia website.
You can find more information (in French) on CWaPE's website.
