Next step in the project

Today, the Flemish Government has provisionally established the draft Ventilus Regional Land Use Plan (Gewestelijk Ruimtelijk Uitvoeringsplan or GRUP). A public enquiry will be held after the summer.

The Flemish Government decided to restart the process for the Ventilus Regional Land Use Plan in November 2022. In recent months, the Flemish Government took note of the progress report, decided on the preferred route and the Department for the Environment organised a plenary meeting for all official advisers. The plenary meeting was followed by the official announcement today that the draft Regional Land Use Plan has been provisionally established.

Next steps

A public enquiry will take place after this summer, whereby the public is given 60 days to comment on the draft Regional Land use Plan.

Ventilus follows an integrated planning process and the project is currently being considered by the Department for the Environment and the Flemish Government. You can register here if you would like to receive a newsletter from the Department for the Environment about the Ventilus Regional Land Use Plan.
