Activated volumes & prices 15'
Elia publishes the volumes and prices for every activated balancing energy product.
Information about activated volumes and prices
Both the quarter-hourly price and the quarter-hourly volume are provided for each product category (assuming the product was actually used). This page only shows regulation-related measures requested by Elia to offset imbalances in the control area.
The prices given on this page are:
- for upward regulation, the highest price Elia paid in the quarter-hour in question;
- for downward regulation, the lowest price Elia received in the quarter-hour in question.
Legend
-
NRV
The Net Regulation Volume for a given quarter-hour, equal to the difference between the gross upward regulation volume and the gross downward regulation volume.
- If this is positive, the MIP is applied to the balancing energy price.
- If this is negative, the MDP is applied to the balancing energy price.
-
GDV
Gross Downward Regulation Volume, or the sum of all downward regulation actions requested by Elia in a given quarter-hour
-
GUV
Gross Upward Regulation Volume, or the sum of all upward regulation actions requested by Elia in a given quarter-hour
-
MIP
The highest price paid by Elia for upward regulation in the quarter-hour in question
-
MDP
The lowest price received by Elia for downward regulation in the quarter-hour in question
-

Exports to neighbouring transmission system operators in the event of positive imbalances.
-
IGCC+
Imports from neighbouring transmission system operators in the event of negative imbalances.
-
R2-
Activated pre-contracted downward secondary reserve capacity
-
R2+Activated pre-contracted upward secondary reserve capacity
-
Bids-Activated capacity of downward non-reserved balancing energy
-
Bids+Activated capacity of downward non-reserved balancing energy
-
R3 StdActivated pre-contracted Standard upward tertiary reserve capacity
-
R3 FlexActivated pre-contracted Flex upward tertiary reserve capacity
-

Disclaimer
If the activated strategic reserve volume is greater than 0 MW, the MIP, IGCC+, R2+, Bids+, R3+, MDP, IGCC-, R2- and Bids- columns of the prices table will not be used to calculate imbalance prices because the strategic reserve is active. The imbalance price will be shown in the column with the SR. To understand how imbalance prices are calculated when the strategic reserve is active, see Article 6.7.2 of the Rules on the Operation of the Strategic Reserve.
