Changes to dismantling schedule

Elia plans to dismantle a 70-kV high-voltage line between Baasrode and Sint-Gillis-bij-Dendermonde. Work has been delayed and will now continue until late August 2022.

Schedule changes

The high-voltage line between Baasrode and Sint-Gillis-bij-Dendermonde was scheduled to be completely dismantled by late 2021. However, work was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. The high-voltage line is now scheduled to be completely dismantled by late August 2022

Working in multiple phases

The high-voltage line will not be fully dismantled in one go. The route is around eight kilometres long and will be divided into several phases, with the work in each phase lasting four to five weeks. The project site will move from Baasrode towards Sint-Gillis-bij-Dendermonde as the work progresses.
When Elia starts work on a certain phase, local residents will receive a letter ahead of time with a detailed schedule and more information about disruptions to traffic and the accessibility of their homes.
