Laying of conduits on the RAVeL in progress

To align Elia's site zone with that of the RAVeL route being laid by the municipality of Braine-le-Château, conduits are being laid. 

The works will start on 1 June and will last a few months, depending on the progress of the works on the RAVeL. The entire section runs between avenue Gaston Mertens and rue Idès Vanschepdael. The works will start at Chemin Vert.

The purpose of the conduits is to accommodate the future electrical cables without having to reopen the RAVeL route. The laying of the conduits is not subject to the permit application procedure. The administrative procedure is carried out via the Walloon works coordination portal, Powalco.

As a reminder, Elia's application was initially rejected by the authorities because of missing details in the technical plans. Elia will soon re-submit a new planning permit application with the required details.
