Massenhoven-Poederlee

The high-voltage line (150kV) between Massenhoven and Poederlee has reached the end of its life and is being dismantled. In recent years, Elia has laid new underground electricity cables (150kV) between Rijkevorsel and Beerse. This was necessary in order to continue to guarantee the electricity supply in the region.

Surrounding area 

Elia is always mindful of the local area when carrying out work. The high-voltage system operator takes a range of measures intended to minimise disruption and impact on the surrounding area. 

• Work only takes place during the day, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. 
• Once work is complete, the land is always restored to its original state. 
• Elia guarantees that local residents will always have access by foot to their homes. 
• If local residents are set to experience a temporary increase in disruption for a specific reason, Elia or its subcontractor(s) will always individually notify those affected by letter. 
• If normal traffic has to be diverted, the diversions will be agreed with the road authority and clearly communicated to local residents. 

Elia will start dismantling the high-voltage line in early August 2022. The work will be done in several phases and continue until the end of 2022. An overview thereof can be found below. 

• Phase 1: municipalities of Ranst, Zandhoven and Vorselaar

Work will be carried out on the high-voltage line between August and October. It will take place from the high-voltage pylon at the carpooling car park, located at the Oelegem slip road complex (no. 19) between the E34 and Zandhovensesteenweg, to the high-voltage pylon located at the intersection of the Heirbaan and Rommelzwaan in Lille (in the province of Antwerp).

• Phase 2: municipalities of Vorselaar and Lille

From September 2022 until November 2022, work will take place from the high-voltage pylon at the intersection of the Heirbaan and Rommelzwaan to the Poederlee high-voltage substation, located at the intersection of Zielestraat and Heide in Lille (in the province of Antwerp).
