Last phase of works in August

Over the last month, Elia has been working on the renovation of the road surface after the works for new underground cables between the “Mortsel” high-voltage substation and the company Agfa-Gevaert. At the end of August, the works will come to an end and the signposting will be removed.

Repair of road surface

In July, the contractor renovated the road surface on Ijzerenweglei and at the roundabout of Septestraat. In August, repair works are being continued at the intersection of Ter Varentstraat and Deurnestraat and at the traffic islands on Drabstraat. These repair works should be finished by the end of August. This will complete the Mortsel – Agfa-Gevaert project.

New underground electricity cables (15kV)

The new underground electricity cables (15kV) between the “Mortsel” high-voltage substation on Drabstraat and the company site of Agfa-Gevaert on Septestraat are necessary to continue to ensure a reliable supply of electricity for this company.
