Advance public information meeting on 22 September 2021

The technical and administrative study period for the project to replace the high voltage line between the Ruien substation (in Flanders) and the Chièvres substation (in Wallonia) is coming to an end.

The planning permit application procedure will now begin. This legal procedure includes holding an advance public information meeting

The meeting, which is a prerequisite for carrying out an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), will:
give Elia a chance to present its project;

  • enable the public to learn more about the project and make observations and suggestions;
  • highlight specific points that may be addressed in the impact assessment;
  • present technical alternatives that may reasonably be considered by the applicant, so that they are taken into account when carrying out the impact assessment.

The meeting will be held on 22 September 2021 at 7 p.m. in the marquee located on the agricultural plot at the crossroads of Rue Boctiaumutte, Rue du Contrepré and N529 (Rue Pironche) in Frasnes-lez-Anvaing (7911).

(GPS coordinates: Lat,Long : 50.677935,3.644529)

Elia will also ensure that you can watch the meeting live online. Three moments of permanence will be set up so you can ask the project team any questions you might have.
