Public consultation begins on 150 kV underground cable connection

On 5 July 2018, the Environment Department declared that the permit application for the 150 kV underground cable between Malderen and Mechelen was complete. This 150 kV cable is one of the four sub-projects in the Schelle-Malderen-Mechelen project and will run through the municipalities of Londerzeel, Willebroek, Puurs, Kapelle-op-den-Bos and Mechelen.

A public consultation process is under way as part of the permit application procedure. This will give local residents 30 days to submit their comments (in writing) about the project to their local council. The public consultation is running in Londerzeel, Willebroek, Kapelle-op-den-Bos, Puurs and Mechelen. For more information about the public consultation, contact your local council.
