Planning permit awarded for Avelgem-Avelin connection upgrade

An important new milestone has just been reached in the project to upgrade the high-voltage line between the substations at Avelgem and Avelin: Wallonia Public Service (WPS) has now approved planning permission.

Consequently, the project team will be able to start construction work at the end of 2018. The work will entail replacing the line's conductors, i.e. the cables between two pylons and upgrading the foundations and pylons. Work is scheduled to start at the end of the year and last 3 years.
