Public Consultation on the Design Note Direct Market Access (DiMaX)

Topic

Public consultation of the stakeholders on the design note related to the Direct Market Access (DiMaX) service, linked to Elia’s Consumer-Centric Market Design (CCMD).

Context

The future will be defined by a rapid increase in renewables and a huge electrification of industrial and residential appliances. In this context, Elia has called for many years for an optimized market design, the Consumer-Centric Market Design, dealing with this significant challenge in terms of integration into the system.
Building on this consumer-centric market design, Elia proposes the DiMaX service to facilitate access to the DA and ID power exchanges, to propagate the future real-time price for a full economical optimization of a flexible asset, and finally as well as to decrease barriers to become a BRP.

Elia is convinced that the keys to unleash further flexibility consist in giving an active role to the consumer, at all voltage levels, while giving them the opportunity to use their flexible assets optimally to enable the energy transition.

Consultation Period

The stakeholders are kindly requested to provide their comments and suggestions. The reactions can be provided to Elia via the form below. The feedback is expected at the latest by Friday 24th of November 2023.

After the consultation period, Elia will collect all comments and feedback from the market parties. Elia will analyse these comments and will discuss them in the next working group CCMD. In case your contribution is to be treated as confidential, please mention it in your answer.
