Public consultation on the Low Carbon Tender design note

Topic

Public consultation of the stakeholders on the design note related to the tender for low carbon capacities (Low Carbon Tender - LCT).

Context

Within the framework of the mission instructed by the Minister of Energy to Elia to undertake the preparatory works for a specific auction for demand management and batteries for the winter period 2024-2025, Elia launches a public consultation of the stakeholders on the design notes related to the tender for low carbon technologies (Low Carbon Tender - LCT). The following document (in English) is being consulted: General design principles LCT.  On 17 October 2022 a new version of the document was published with an updated definition list.

On the request of the FPS Economy, section 3.3 of the design note includes a proposal for the CO2 thresholds which would be applicable on the LCT. All feedback received on the proposal for the CO2 thresholds will be treated by the FPS Economy.

Consultation Period

Via this public consultation, Elia wants to inform all market parties and relevant stakeholders as clearly as possible about the various aspects of the LCT design and actively seek their feedback on those proposals.

The stakeholders are therefore kindly requested to provide their comments and suggestions within three weeks after the launch of the consultation. The reactions can be provided to Elia via the form below. The feedback is expected at the latest by Friday 4th of November 2022 at 6pm.
